I will be posting audio samples from all 3 talks over the next few days. i am very happy with the quality of these recordings. There is very little processing needed. Please check back in after September 9th to listen...
Just a few thoughts on these talks sent by Bill who sent me over the tapes. I will be updating the details of the talks later with audio samples....
Talk 1 Gives excellent background on the Church's turn towards scientific biblical research around 1946. He cites important official documents dealing with biblical studies and legitimate approaches to interpretation.
Talk 2 Makes the important point that Jesus never confused himself with the Father in Heaven, his father.
Talks 3 Introduces the listener to a mature understanding of the Infancy Narratives which addressed the questions about Jesus' origins which naturally arose during the second half of the first century. Answers, of course, had to be found in the Hebrew scriptures.
Talk 4 sheds light on this little addressed topic. I found it helpful to hear several passages addressed as well as some analysis of why they may have been omitted from the canon.
